San Francisco Torch Relay

Tuesday, April 15th, 2008

I went down to the Olympic Torch Relay the other day. Wow! What an experience, and what a great event to photograph. So much passion was being displayed on all sides, everywhere I turned my lens someone was speaking their mind.

You’ve gotta love San Francisco! You’ve gotta love freedom of speech!

Editorial Shoot

Wednesday, March 26th, 2008

I just wrapped up a shoot this weekend and couldn’t wait to get the images from it up on the blog. Thanks to everyone who helped with the shoot, especially, Haute Bride (located on Union St.) for the dress, shoes, jewelery, and also Nancy Cialdella for the hair and make-up. Ladies if you need a dress go to Haute Bride and call Nancy Cialdella for your wedding day make-up and hair; they both rock!!

Portrait Series of Rock Bands!!!

Wednesday, March 5th, 2008

I am slowly creating a series of portraits of local musicians. I really enjoy music and since I have no musical skill at all, I get involved with the music scene via my camera.

These are two of my favorites: The band featured in the first one is Plot Against Rachel. I just shot the bottom image last week; it features a group called Robustitron.

Artist Portraits in the March Issue of Sacramento Magazine!

Wednesday, February 20th, 2008

Last month Sacramento Magazine hired me to photograph six popular local visual artists for a story they are doing in their March issue. I love photographing artists! I jumped at the chance. Artists always have very unique personalities and perspectives. Above are my favorites from the series I photographed; below are the names of each artist. Check them out!

Mark Niemeyer / Chris Richnak / Robert Bowen / Lonn Stern / Julie Madden / Carrie Cottini

Andrew Weeks Photography: Found in Shutter Bug Magazine

Monday, February 18th, 2008

Ask any professional photographer and they have looked at the pages of Shutter Bug Magazine. A photograph of mine -from the image series above- recently appeared in Shutter Bug Magazine alongside a quote from me. The article was about photography business trends on the web.

Hanging out with Rock Stars!

Saturday, February 16th, 2008

Being a lover of music (but not having any ability to sing or play an instrument), I have fulfilled my passion for music by taking portraits of folks with the musical skills that I lack.

Here are two sample images from the series.

This one is a portrait from the series that was in the “Best of 2007″ issue of Sacramento Magazine. It is of Chelsea Wolfe, a great singer/songwriter from Sacramento. Hear her music at:

This is one of Toby Black, a great drummer for the band “Robustitron”. Hear their music at:

I love my wife :-)

So my wife, Genevieve, has started her own Ballet School here in San Francisco. It is the coolest and cutest thing ever! It is called Tutu School.

Check it out: http://www.TutuSchool.com

The picture below is one I took of her dancing as Dew Drop in Madison Ballet’s production of The Nutcracker. Beside being the director of the school she is a professional Ballerina.
